Lisseth’s journey with Empowerment International began in 2016 when she joined as a Home Visit Promoter. From the very beginning, her dedication and passion for our mission, the children, and their families was evident. Over the years, she has taken on various leadership roles, each time demonstrating her commitment, resilience, and deep understanding of our programs and the communities we serve.

Her experience spans multiple aspects of our work, including home visits, health programs, child sponsorship coordination, program monitoring and evaluation, and eventually leading and founding ADEINIC (Asociación para el Desarrollo de la Educación Integral en Nicaragua), the local organization established to ensure the continuity of Empowerment International’s work in Nicaragua.

In 2020, she stepped into the role of Assistant Director, where she played a crucial role in strengthening our educational programs, fostering community engagement, and ensuring the organization’s long-term sustainability. By 2022, she had taken on the position of Program Director at ADEINIC, demonstrating her leadership in overcoming challenges and navigating the complexities of nonprofit work in Nicaragua.

In 2024, Lisseth transitioned to a role as Program Advisor, supporting ADEINIC’s team through key operational and administrative transitions, providing guidance on program operations, and ensuring compliance with government procedures. Now, in 2025, we are proud to welcome her as the Executive Director of Empowerment International. As a native of Nicaragua with excellent English and a deep understanding of U.S. culture, she brings a unique and profound perspective to our program and organization.

As I step into a supporting role as Founder, I have complete confidence in Lisseth’s ability to lead with vision and compassion. It is every founder's dream to be able to leave the organization in the hands of local leaders and to be assured that the program will continue long after its inception. Lisseth embodies the values that have made Empowerment International what it is today, and I am excited for what lies ahead under her guidance. Her passion for education, her ability to build strong relationships with families and donors, and her strategic vision for expanding our programs ensure that the organization will continue to grow and thrive.
