Changing Destinations, be a sponsor

Imagine for a moment the impact that the unconditional support of an organization can have on a student's life. Today I want to share with you how EI became my beacon during my academic journey, especially considering the difficult economic circumstances my family was going through.

My name is Olga Maria and I started my career at EI when I was 11 years old, at a time when my family was facing great difficulties after losing our house. My mother worked as a cleaner and my father was a trader in the local market in Granada. I was aware of the economic problems we were going through and knew that EI would be a crucial support for both my parents and me. Sadness and grief came into my life with the death of my father in a traffic accident. Although it was an extremely difficult time, the continuous support and careful follow-up provided by EI enabled me to overcome that difficult period of grief.

EI played a fundamental role in my life by facilitating my entry into university and allowing me to complete my studies. This was a goal that I initially did not believe possible, as my mother's resources were barely enough to cover basic expenses, especially those related to food, and considering that she was a single mother and had to raise not only myself but also my siblings, I found it difficult to believe that I would be able to cover the expenses involved in college.

I am deeply grateful to EI; they were a light in my life, and they helped me grow and become a professional. I discovered my talent in photography thanks to the programs offered, I had the opportunity to be a tutor which helped me to be disciplined, orderly, responsible, and above all to mature as a person, I feel that I am a living example of the mission and vision of EI, as I became the first member of my family to attend college and break the cycle of poverty through education.

You can make a difference in the life of one of our children by becoming a sponsor and changing their story, just as others have changed mine. Right now, we face the reality of having 19 students who do not yet have a mentor to guide and support them in their development.

We need your collaboration, and the first step is to find mentors for those students who do not currently have one. We encourage you to explore our website and become a mentor, knowing that your active participation will make a significant change in the lives of these students and, in turn, leave a lasting impression on generations to come.

If you would like to provide even more help and make a difference, we cordially invite you to consider an additional donation. With your generosity, we will be able to keep our programs active and offer our students more life-enriching activities.
